Credit Card Type Detector

Identify the card network from a credit or debit card number. Detection uses IIN/BIN prefix matching to determine the issuing network.

Privacy: All detection happens in your browser. No card numbers are sent to any server.

How It Works

IIN/BIN Prefix Matching

Every card number begins with an Issuer Identification Number (IIN), also called the Bank Identification Number (BIN). The first 1-6 digits identify the card network and issuing institution.

Detection vs Validation

This tool detects the card type based on the number prefix. It does not validate whether the number is a real, active card. For full validation including Luhn algorithm checks, use the Credit Card Validator.
